Regarding use of these facilities

Osaka University International House, Toyonaka was established to provide accommodation for international researchers and international students engaged in research and education at Osaka University. Furthermore, the goal of the establishment of Osaka University International House was to promote international exchange. The Main Buildings (A and B Wings) were opened in January 1979, and the Annex (C Wing) was opened in June 1995. The A and B Wings are accommodation facilities, while the C Wing is a dormitory for international students.

Osaka University International House organizes exchange meetings to promote international exchange between residents of the House and members of the local community, such as support groups and volunteers. Furthermore, local volunteer groups organize events for residents of Osaka University International House: Welcome Party for new residents, Summer Dance Festival, kimono-party, Christmas Party, and Hinamatsuri Festival. In addition, cultural activities like Ikebana [flower arrangement] classes, tea ceremony classes and Japanese language classes (beginner, intermediate, advanced) are organized

Eligibility

Eligible Individuals

1. OU faculty and staff and their families
2. Visitors and their families who have a definite purpose
3. Patients treated at Osaka University Hospital/Osaka University Dental Hospital and their families
4. OU students and their families
5. International researchers who are engaged in research or education at the National Museum of Ethnology and their families

*Note that additional checks are required for individuals in (3) who wish to make use of these facilities, so make sure to contact us in advance if this applies to you.

Hours of Operation: Monday~Friday (8:45~17:00) (Excludes summer and new year's holidays)

Parking: Parking is only available for bicycles and motorcycles. (No car parking)

Reservations (A/B Wings: accommodation facilities)

Individuals who wish to stay at the International House, Toyonaka should download an application form, fill in all required information, and inform the Manager's Office of International House, Toyonaka.

*As a general rule, to prevent any leaks of personal information, the university prohibits sending files via email.

OU members: Use the file sharing system recommended by the university (i.e. saving the file to a network folder, sharing the file in OneDrive on ICHO, Microsoft SharePoint, or Microsoft Teams, setting up Azure Information Protection (AIP), etc.)

Individuals from outside the university: Perform all possible security measures to prevent leaks of personal information, such as setting a password when sending files via email.

*If you will be moving in or out in the middle of the month, rent payment will be calculated per day.
*Common service and bedding expenses are included in the rent prices. However, if you wish to receive additional bedding, it will come at an additional charge.
*Payment for use of the A/B Wings can be made by credit card (VISA, Mastercard, or UnionPay) or by bank transfer (only transfers from within Japan will be accepted).
Note that payments cannot be accepted in cash.

Directions: Take the Hankyu Takarazuka Line and get off at Ishibashi Station. Walk 20 minutes uphill to the east. Or, take the Subway (Midosuji Line) bound for Senri-Chuo. From Senri-Chuo Station, change to the Osaka Monorail bound for Osaka Airport, and get off at Shibahara Station. Walk 10 minutes to the north.
