*You cannot move in or out on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays.

*You can stay in a dormitory for up to 12 months.

*As many newcomers are moving in April and October, we are kindly asking occupants planning to move out in March or September to do so by the 25th of the month.

*While you are living in a university's dormitory, you cannot apply and move into another one.

Residences for International Students & Researchers

Osaka University International House, Toyonaka was established to provide accommodation for international researchers and international students engaged in research and education at Osaka University. Furthermore, the goal of the establishment of Osaka University International House was to promote international exchange. The Main Buildings (A and B Wings) were opened in January 1979, and the Annex (C Wing) was opened in June 1995.

Individuals who wish to reside in the International House should click here to make a reservation via the RRS (Residence Reservation System).

Regarding outage of the Residence Reservation System (RRS)

The RRS has been experiencing issues since December 1, 2020, and is currently unavailable. We are currently investigating these issues and information regarding resumption of service will be posted to the Osaka University official homepage when available. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and we humbly ask for your patience and understanding. Reservations and other emergencies should be directed to the email address listed below. Osaka University International House organizes exchange meetings to promote international exchange between residents of the House and members of the local community, such as support groups and volunteers. Furthermore, local volunteer groups organize events for residents of Osaka University International House: Welcome Party for new residents, Summer Dance Festival, kimono-party, Christmas Party, and Hinamatsuri Festival. In addition, cultural activities like Ikebana [flower arrangement] classes, tea ceremony classes and Japanese language classes (beginner, intermediate, advanced) are organized.
