The 65th Seven Universities Meet (2026) Comes to a Close

On September 29, the closing ceremony for the 65th Seven Universities Meet was held at Kyushu University, marking the conclusion of this year's competition.
UOsaka delivered strong performances across all events, earning a total of 239 points and claiming the overall championship for the first time in 15 tournaments since winning the 50th edition.

At the closing ceremony, executive members of the University of Osaka Sports Union, led by Chair ZAMA Akihiro, attended on behalf of UOsaka and received the championship flag and trophy for winning the overall title.
In the individual competitions, the ice hockey team, the men's and women's track and field teams, the women's karate team, the women's kendo team, the women's tennis team, the men's and women's badminton teams, the women's soft tennis team, and the softball team finished first in their respective events.

Overall results
1st place: UOsaka (239 points)
2nd place: Kyushu University (207 points)

6th place: Hokkaido University (191 points)

The last Seven Universities Meet that was scheduled to be hosted by UOsaka was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, we will serve as the host university for the 66th Seven Universities Meet next year for the first time in 14 years.

Building on the momentum of this year's overall championship victory, our athletes will look to defend their title at next year's competition, and their continued success is highly anticipated.
We hope that the 66th Seven Universities Meet will be a truly memorable event for both the competing athletes and their supporters. We kindly ask for your warm support as we look ahead to next year's competition.

Championship report from the women’s soft tennis team

At the soft tennis competition held at Imazu Sports Park from August 25 to 27, the women's soft tennis team successfully defended its team title. In the individual event, UOsaka dominated the competition, taking both first and second place.

Captain's Comment:
In this year’s Seven Universities Meet, we were delighted to achieve another successful result, defending our team title from last year and sweeping first and second place in the individual competition. I believe this was the result of every team member approaching their training with a strong sense of responsibility as a representative of UOsaka, regardless of whether they competed in the team event.
We will continue to work hard to further improve our skills and strengthen our team, while never forgetting our gratitude to everyone who has supported us.
