[Karate team]
At the karate competition held at Kyushu University’s Ito campus on July 19, the women's karate team captured the team kumite title, securing its first championship in five years.
Captain's Comment:
We are delighted to have won the women's team kumite championship for the first time in five years. In particular, defeating Kyushu University, a team we had struggled to beat in the past, was a significant achievement and gave us great confidence. Every team member, including our first-year students, played an important role and performed to the best of their abilities, helping us secure victories in all of our matches. This championship was truly earned through the collective efforts of the entire team. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported and guided us, as well as to our alumni for their continued encouragement and support.

Ever since the current team succeeded the previous generation, winning the championship has been our shared goal, and we are truly delighted to have achieved it. Although there were many challenging moments during the matches, we were able to support one another and cover for each other's mistakes. I believe this victory was the result of the daily dedication and hard work of all our team members, who have continuously pushed each other to improve through practice.

Captain's Comment:
For the past year, all members of the badminton team have dedicated themselves to training with the shared goal of winning the Seven Universities Meet in both the men's and women's divisions. Despite facing many challenging matches, we were able to put into practice everything we had worked on and fight with determination until the very end. This led to a memorable achievement, with both teams capturing the championship titles.
Furthermore, NEGORO Hayato (third year) from the men's team and IKEDA Riko (fourth year) from the women's team were selected as Outstanding Players of the tournament.
This achievement would not have been possible without the generous support and encouragement of so many people, including our alumni and parents, who have supported us throughout the year. We were also greatly encouraged by the many supporters who came to the venue to cheer us on. On behalf of all team members, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their continued support.
As next year's Seven Universities Meet will be held in Osaka, we are determined to build an even stronger team and achieve back-to-back championships in both the men's and women's divisions.
We would greatly appreciate your continued support and encouragement for the UOsaka badminton team.
