[Seven Universities Meet Update] Ice hockey and track & field teams claim victory!

Following the opening ceremony on July 11, the 65th Seven Universities Meet officially entered full competition. The ice hockey team and track & field team achieved remarkable success, with each team winning its respective championship. We are delighted to bring you comments from the teams that claimed championship titles through their outstanding performances.

[Ice hockey team]
Ahead of the opening ceremony, the UOsaka ice hockey competition, one of the winter events of the tournament, was held at O-Vision Ice Arena Fukuoka over a seven-day period from December 8 to 14, 2025. The ice hockey team made history by winning the championship for the first time in 47 years.

Captain's Comment:
We accomplished the extraordinary achievement of capturing the Seven Universities Meet title for the first time in 47 years. We owe this success to the generations of alumni and alumnae who have supported the team and to all those who continue to encourage us every day. As representatives of UOsaka, we will carry this accomplishment with pride and remain committed to pursuing even greater goals. We see this championship not as the culmination of our efforts, but as the beginning of a new chapter as we strive for further success.

[Track & field team]
Competing over three days from July 24 to 26 at Heiwadai Athletic Stadium and Hakata no Mori Athletic Stadium in Fukuoka Prefecture, the UOsaka track & field team delivered an outstanding performance to capture the overall championships.

Captain's Comment:
Our goal this year was to achieve an overwhelming overall victory in both the men's and women's divisions. Although the final result was a narrow win, every team member demonstrated their full potential and fought with determination through to the very end. We are delighted to be able to share this achievement with everyone who has supported and encouraged us throughout the year. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support. Buoyed by this success, we will continue striving to build an even stronger team. We sincerely appreciate your ongoing support and encouragement as we pursue further excellence.
