Professor SAKAGUCHI Shimon visited Administration Bureau at the University of Osaka

On the morning of Tuesday, October 7th, the day after the announcement of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, Professor SAKAGUCHI Shimon, Distinguished Honorary Professor of the University of Osaka, visited Administration Bureau on the University of Osaka's Suita Campus. Welcomed by approximately 80 faculty, staff, and students from the university, as well as members of the press, President Atsushi Kumanogoh presented a bouquet of flowers, and there was a huge round of applause.

After speaking to the press, Professor Sakaguchi visited the President's office and reported his award to the Executive Directors of the university. Professor Sakaguchi spoke about the regulatory T (Treg) cells for which he received the award, and the directors also offered congratulatory remarks. The discussion proceeded in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere throughout.
