Regarding use of these facilities

Osaka University has the Machikaneyama Kaikan on the Toyonaka campus as a facility to be used for meetings, small seminars, parties, and accommodation for people outside the university.
Anyone may use the dining room.

*Wifi service is only available in guest rooms at the facility.

1. OU faculty and staff and their families
2. Visitors and their families who have a definite purpose
3. Patients treated at Osaka University Hospital/Osaka University Dental Hospital and their families
4. OU students and their families

Accommodation fee payment

After receiving your reservation confirmation email, please transfer money to the bank account specified in the email no later than 5 business days prior to the date of your stay. (Please bear the bank transfer fee.)

Starting Tuesday, April 16, 2024, credit cards may be used to pay for stays at Machikaneyama Kaikan (cards accepted: VISA, MasterCard, China UnionPay). (That there is no way to pay in advance via credit card.)

We will check your reservation confirmation email when you check in, so please hang onto it.

Please note that we will also not be able to accept reservations or answer inquiries from Saturday, August 10 ~ Thursday, August 15, 2024 due to the summer holidays.

Payment/Cancellation fees

• Payment should be made via transfer to a designated university account. (Transfer fees must also be paid at the guest's expense.)
• Starting Tuesday, April 16, 2024, credit cards may be used to pay for stays at Machikaneyama Kaikan (cards accepted: VISA, MasterCard, China UnionPay).
• Note that payments cannot be accepted in cash.
• Those who want their fees to be covered by management expenses grants or grants-in-aid for research for Osaka University are requested to contact an accountant clerk at their host school or research institute.

Machikaneyama Kaikan

Reception Hours: Monday through Saturday (excluding the New Year Holidays)

• 10:00 am ~ 6:00 p.m.

Check-in: 3:30 p.m. ~ 6:00 p.m.

Check-out: 10:00 a.m. ~ 11:00 a.m.

Maximum length of stay: 2 months

Accommodation fee payment: Pay by 5 days before your stay (excluding exclduing Saturday, Sunday, and national holidays)

Booking window: 6 months in advance ~ 5 days before your stay

Room types: Single room (5), Twin room (2)

Room furnishings: TV, desk, refrigerator, modular bathroom, electric pot, hair dryer, towels, Wi-Fi

Lounge in front of the lobby, 1F (Capacity: 25)

Meeting rooms

Faculty and staff members can use the meeting rooms for the following purposes:

1. Lectures and workshops regarding education and research at the university. (restricted to OU-related business)
2. Individuals from outside of the university who have an appointment with OU and who have a referral from an OU faculty/staff member (restricted to OU-related business)

Furnishings:
1F Special Room (capacity: 14): TV, video, white board, 80-inch Portable Floor Pull Up Projection Screen
2F Meeting Room (capacity 48): Electric screen, white board, microphone, projector

Reservation of the meeting room and special room:

Please make your reservation for the special room and the conference room at the Machkaneyama Kaikan using the Outlook calendar.

[NOTE] In addition, send the reservation details to the Housing Section (machikane@ml.office.osaka-u.ac.jp) by email. Include the purpose of use, the content of the meeting, and the number of participants in the text of your email.

Please pick up and return the key at the manager's office.

Notes when using the meeting room and special room:

• Available for use from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday
• Wifi service is not available.
• These rooms are not available on Sundays and national holidays.
• These rooms are not available for academic meetings from outside the university
• Food and drink are prohibited in these meeting rooms.

Dining facility

Libre (1F, Machikaneyama Kaikan)
Menu: Set meals including pork cutlets, chicken, curry and rice, and other simple dishes.
Open Mon. through Fri. (excluding national holidays), 11:00 a.m. ~ 2:00 p.m.

Business hours and days vary in the summer and during the Year End and New Year holidays.
