Providing Free Sanitary Products in Restrooms for the Well-being of Female Students
In order to achieve gender equality and promote women’s well-being, which are both included in the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Osaka University has installed dispensers for providing free sanitary products in its women’s and all gender restrooms. OU will begin installation of dispensers in some restrooms on its campuses (Suita, Toyonaka, and Minoh) and increase the number of dispensers from the possible locations.

Enrollment fee support system – To support female students to take science courses and promote diversity
In order to support female students in advancing to science courses and to promote diversity and revitalize its initiatives, Osaka University began its financial support for enrollment fees for female students who enter the Schools of Science, Engineering, or Engineering Science in April 2022.

asiam, a network for female students in natural sciences at OU
asiam, a network for female undergraduate and graduate students in natural sciences, was started in order to develop knowledge and skills needed to be female researchers and leaders through events and other activities across disciplines. Female students engage in various activities, such as events to connect female students across disciplines to speak about the attractiveness of science to elementary, middle, and high school students, counseling services for higher education, and operation and planning of meet ups between undergraduate and graduate students.


"will," a magazine for prospective female high school students
"will" is a magazine that features interviews with motivated female students at OU, providing information to prospective female middle and high school students seeking to join OU. The magazine offers a mix of articles on female students, such as interviews of students in various years, conversations with science students, sharing of study abroad experiences, and messages from alumni, satisfying the curiosity of prospective female students.
