UOsaka has been selected for the EXcellence Program for Engaging Research Talent – Japan (EXPERT-J)

The University of Osaka has been selected for the “FY2026 the EXcellence Program for Engaging Research Talent – Japan (EXPERT-J)” implemented by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).

This program aims to strengthen the functions of research universities and promote international brain circulation by inviting and hosting outstanding researchers who are active overseas at Japanese universities. While UOsaka has been engaged in hosting researchers from overseas , its selection for this program will enable the university to further strengthen and expand its framework.

The proposal selected this time is titled the “Initiative for Inviting Outstanding Researchers to Lead Industrial and Societal Transformation and Address Social Challenges.”

Under this initiative, UOsaka will host eight outstanding young researchers from overseas, building on the university’s strengths in world‑leading research facilities—such as those conducting top‑level research in immunology—and in its joint‑use and joint‑research centers.

The University of Osaka will establish a framework that enables researchers to utilize the international networks they have built overseas by enhancing institutional collaboration and developing research environments across multiple sites.
