Welcome to The University of Osaka! AY 2026-27 Spring Entrance Ceremony held

The University of Osaka held its AY 2026-2027 Spring Entrance Ceremony under clear blue skies at Osaka-Jo Hall on Thursday, April 2, 2026, with 6,504 individuals (3,450 undergraduate students and 3,054 graduate students) entering the university.

At the ceremony, in a solemn atmosphere, a student representative made oaths of admission.

In his congratulatory address, President Kumanogoh emphasized that entering the university should be regarded as a “goal” rather than a “dream.” He also encouraged the students to pose their own questions and to find their dreams in an environment where there is no single correct answer.

Finally, musical performances welcoming the new students were displayed by UOsaka's Symphony Orchestra, Mixed Chorus, and Male Chorus. The cheerleading party also performed a dance, concluding the ceremony on a festive note.

President Kumanogoh’s address
