UOsaka Tailless Aircraft Circle Albatross Announces Victory at Birdman Rally 2025
At the 2025 Birdman Rally, held on July 26, 2025, on the eastern shore of Lake Biwa in Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture, the university’s aircraft circle "albatross," an officially recognized UOsaka organization, snatched a splendid victory in the human-powered propeller aircraft category.
On September 8, after the television broadcast, six albatross students and their advisor, Professor Hideaki Murakami (Graduate School of Dentistry), reported their victory to President Atsushi Kumanogoh.
President Kumanogoh offered his congratulations on their victory, where the students shared the behind-the-scenes stories leading up to the win, including the aircraft designing.
Reminiscing about their impressive flight astonishingly breaking the team record and enjoying a friendly discussion, they took commemorative photos.
The Birdman Rally is held annually, and next year a new team will take on the challenge.
