UOsaka Tailless Aircraft Circle Albatross Wins 1st Prize in 47th Japan International Birdman Rally
UOsaka aircraft circle albatross, an officially recognized organization at the University of Osaka, won the Birdman Rally 2025 held on July 25-26, 2025. Footage of the rally was also broadcast on the Nippon TV network on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
Champion Aircraft “Byakuya (White Night)”
Albatross has so far participated in the Birdman Rally 8 times.
Since the circle began in 2005, they have traditionally built “tailless aircraft” characterized by the lack of a tail assembly; however, since 2022, they have transitioned to building aircraft with tailplanes.
Last year, competing for the first time with a tailplane aircraft, they set a new record-breaking distance and finished in 6th place. This year's remarkable achievement came amid high expectations following that record.
