Participation in the “Male Leaders Coalition for Empowerment of Women”

Atsushi Kumanogoh, President of National University Corporation the University of Osaka, has joined the “Male Leaders Coalition for Empowerment of Women" (Secretariat: Cabinet Office). The university’s former president, Shojiro Nishio, joined the Coalition in August 2016, and the university will continue to accelerate our efforts for gender equality and women’s active participation while deepening our network with male leaders in various industries throughout Japan.

■Measures implemented at the National University Corporation the University of Osaka to promote DE&I, including the promotion of women's participation

Based on the belief that diversity is the source of innovation, the University of Osaka published the “UOsaka Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Declaration” in 2021 and has since been working to create an environment where diversity is truly accepted and respected. As a next step, we are striving to enhance the “quality” of DE&I by adding the principles of social equality and respect for human rights, with the aim of realizing a “DE&I equipped campus” where everyone shines with enthusiasm in their own unique way.
