Student / faculty staff digital ID cards now available – the largest of National University Corporation – Accelerating DX by realizing comfortable campus life with one single smartphone -
On January 29, 2025, as part of promoting DX (digital transformation), Osaka University began providing digital student and staff ID cards. The digital ID cards can be displayed on “My Handai”, the university’s official smartphone application.
This will help improve convenience for students and faculty staff, streamline operations, and reduce administration expenses.
The introduction of the student/faculty staff digital ID cards is the largest in scale as national university corporation (students, faculty staff approx. 35,000 in total).
The digital ID cards will have the same validity as the existing physical ID cards.
When students or faculty members present their digital ID cards, please confirm that the person presenting the card is the same person in question by checking their photo and the details on the card before proceeding with all sorts of procedures.
