Three OU Researchers Receive Prestigious Accolades

Three academics from the WPI Premium Research Institute for Human Metaverse Medicine (WPI-PRIMe) of Osaka University received prestigious accolades.

On April 17, 2024, Professor HAYASHI Katsuhiko of WPI-PRIMe (Germline Genetics, Department of Genome Biology, Graduate School of Medicine) was selected to TIME Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2024 in recognition of his achievements that produced mouse pups using eggs made from stem cells of two male parents, whose research results were published in 2023.

Prior to this, the winners of the 1st Kobe Prize (sponsored by Nakatani Foundation for Advancement of Measuring Technologies in Biomedical Engineering) were announced on April 16, 2024. Professor TAKEBE Takanori (Deputy Director, PRIMe) received the Young Investigator Award and Specially Appointed Professor YACHIE Nozomu was chosen as a finalist for the award.
