Student Emergency Aid for Continuance of Studies

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology(MEXT) established Student Emergency Aid for Continuance of Studies for students who may have difficulty in continuing their studies at university due to economic reasons caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, such as a decrease in household income or part-time income.

This is a cash handout of 100,000 yen intended for students living independently and who are paying their own tuition fees through part-time income.

Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Students and non-regular students (exchange students, research students, etc.) are not eligible to receive this financial support.
