Student Emergency Aid for Continuance of Studies

Applications are no longer being accepted.

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) established Student Emergency Aid for Continuance of Studies for students who may have difficulty in continuing their studies at university due to economic reasons caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, such as a decrease in household income or part-time income.

This is a cash handout of 100,000 yen intended for students living independently and who are paying their own tuition fees through part-time income.

[IMPORTANT] The following are not eligible to apply:

・Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Students

・Non-regular students (exchange students, research students, etc.)

・Students who were selected in the first or second round of application

・Students who received inquiry about the second round of application*

*Please check KOAN ’s message board titled “Confirmation of Requirements for Emergency Aid” and answer the inquiry by 5 pm on Tuesday, March 15th, 2022 (JST).

Note: Osaka University will accept applications through procedures different from those described in the Student Emergency Aid for Continuance of Studies: Application Guide (for Students). Students who wish to apply for this emergency aid must read the following application procedures and make applications in accordance with procedures designated by OU.

How to apply

I) Please read “Application Guide (for Students)” p.4～5 carefully and confirm who is eligible for emergency aid.

II) Please answer the survey “Application for the Student Emergency Aid for Continuance of Studies (学生等の学びを継続するための緊急給付金) 3rd rd " on KOAN (General Surveys).

Please do not use the application form on MEXT website. Also please do not apply through LINE communications app.

Please note answers to KOAN Surveys are valid only if they have been sent from “Check Responses” screen.

Answers which Entry Status on “Responses/List” screen has not been “Done” will be invalid.

III) Please enclose all the required documents with the copy of your student card and send them by Letter Pack Lite or Acceptance-recorded mail.

[NOTE] Please write in red “CONTENTS: documents (KINKYU-KYUFUKIN) ” on the surface of the envelope.

*"Application for Student Emergency Aid for Continuance of Studies" (Form 1) and "Oath" (Form 2) are not necessary.
