Entrance Examination Fee Exemption for Recipients of the Indonesia Presidential Scholarship Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP)
Osaka University has a system of exemption of the entrance examination fees in order to support Indonesian students who wish to study for a degree at an OU graduate school under the Indonesia Presidential Scholarship Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP).
1. Who is eligible:
Individuals are eligible for the LPDP if they meet one of the following conditions:
(1) Individuals who are selected as LPDP scholarship recipients
(2) Individuals who have not yet been selected as LPDP scholarship recipients but who have completed a bachelor's, master's, or equivalent course at a university specified on this attachment (a university which is specified by the LPDP and has an agreement with OU) immediately before enrolling in OU and have been conferred with a bachelor's or master's degree, or individuals who are seeking to enroll in Osaka University from April or October and expect to be conferred with a bachelor's or master's degree from a university by the end of March (if seeking to enter in April) or September (if seeking to enter in October).
2. How to apply:
Applicants are required to contact the faculty member who they would like to be their advisor at OU and submit the documents noted below after they have received approval from that faculty member that he/she will be their advisor.
Please submit your application approximately 2 months before the start of the application period for the graduate school entrance examination you wish to take.
Contact the academic supervisor or the office of the graduate school in which you wish to enroll. Applicants may search the various schools for professors in their desired field by using the Researcher Database.
Required documents
All documents must be prepared in Japanese or English.

(2) Letter of recommendation written on Letterhead by a dean or academic advisor at the university to which the applicant belongs/belonged. (A letter of recommendation in .pdf format is also acceptable.)
(3) Graduation certificate or certificate of expected graduation from the university the applicant attends/attended
Certificates written in Indonesian must be submitted with a certified Japanese or English translation.
(4) Transcript from the university the applicant attends/attended
Transcripts written in Indonesian must be submitted with a certified Japanese or English translation.
(5) Any other documents required by the graduate school in which you wish to enroll
3. Acceptance period
During the month of April or October
4. Screening method and result announcement:
(1) The graduate school screens the applicant's documents and successful applicants are selected by the International Affairs Committee at Osaka University.
(2) After successful applicants have been selected, graduate schools will inform those applicants.
(3) Individuals who pass the LPDP screening are required to promptly submit a copy of the certificate of scholarship recipient issued by the LPDP to their academic advisor at OU.
(4) In addition to the application for this support system, applicants are required to submit an application form to the graduate school of their choice and undertake entrance exams in accordance with arrangements of the graduate school.
5. Important point
Only those who take the entrance exams for a graduate school at Osaka University will be provided with financial support from Osaka University.
6. Support details
Entrance examination fees for a graduate school at Osaka University will be exempted.
7. Notes
Documents submitted by applicants are not returnable.
This support system will be implemented on the premise that the LPDP will recruit scholarship recipients.
