[Call for applications] The University of Osaka Fund Management TOKYO Office Staff

Overview

The University of Osaka will set up a Fund Management Office in Tokyo as of April 1, 2025. The office will be composed of the Chief Investment Officer and other experienced personnel and will be responsible for fund management operations.
We are currently recruiting a staff member who will be in charge of the university’s future fund management expertise.

Based in one of the Tokyo 23 wards (after being hired, the person will work in Osaka (for one year), then be transferred to an external organization in Tokyo (for one or two years), after which they will work in the Fund Management Office in Tokyo.

6. Job Description

  • Duties related to fund management (mainly long-term management), assisting the university’s employed investment managers and fund management staff, and preparing documents related to fund management.
  • Communicating and coordinating with relevant departments (Osaka) regarding meetings related to the university’s fund management.

7. Qualifications

(1) Applicants should meet the following criteria:

Individuals who were born on or after April 2, 1991 (including those who will graduate in the AY2024)

Provisions for Disqualification

*Individuals who fall under the following cannot take the examination:

  • Individuals who are serving a prison sentence, individuals on probation, and individuals who are serving any other sentence
  • Individuals who have formed or belong to a political party or other organization that advocates subversion of the Constitution of Japan and/or any government bodies established therein
  • Individuals who do not hold a status of residence in Japan that allows for unrestricted work activity (This does not include individuals who are able to acquire a status of residence that allows them to work at Osaka University from the starting date.)

(2)Applicants must have a strong desire to be involved in fund management operations.
(3)Applicants must have the willingness to contribute to the university as a specialist in fund management operations in the future.
(4) Applicants have the cooperativeness and communication skills necessary to perform their duties in a coordinated manner.
(5) Applicants must have the willingness to devote themselves in performing duties with a sense of responsibility.

[Preferred Conditions]

(1)Experience of working at a financial institution (especially at a securities company)
(2)Graduated or completed a higher education institute majoring in finance.

11. Working Hours

8 hours/day, 5 days/week (not including Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays and New Year’s holidays)

Working Hours: 8:30~17:15

Break Time: 12:15~13:00

(However, employees may be required to work overtime and on holidays.)

12. Salary and Allowances

Base salary will be decided based on the individual’s career history etc.

Individuals hired immediately after obtaining their bachelor’s degree
220,000 yen (estimated base salary)
*12 % if working in Osaka, 20% if working in Tokyo, will be added as a regional allowance.

Individuals with 5 years’ work experience at a private company after obtaining their bachelor’s degree
241,000 yen (estimated base salary)
*12 % if working in Osaka, 20% if working in Tokyo, will be added as a regional allowance.

Allowances: commuting, housing, family, overtime
Bonuses: term-end, performance-based (June, December)
Raises: Generally, raises are given on January 1 based on performance during the previous year.
