Application Guidelines for the Enrollment/Tuition Fee Exemption Program

To students whose households were affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake

Application Guidelines for the Osaka University Enrollment/Tuition Fee Exemption Program will be posted to this page at the end of February 2024.

If your household has experienced financial difficulties due to this disaster and you wish to apply for tuition exemption, please review the Application Guidelines and complete the necessary procedures before the deadline.

The following documents are necessary for application. The university will select students through screening of application documents submitted. For details, please refer to the application guidelines to be posted at the end of February.

Intended for: Regular undergraduate/graduate students (including international students and those who will enter the university)

Please submit ALL of the following:

  • Documents to show the extent of the damages to your residence, such as a photocopy of a Disaster Victim Certificate (罹災証明書) or a Disaster Damage Notification Certificate (被災届出証明書)
  • A photocopy of an appraisal report for personal property for determining the property losses due to earthquake
  • A photocopy of the amount of compensation admissible under your damage insurance contract

Intended for: Regular undergraduate/graduate students (including international students and those who will enter the university)

Osaka University has offered the “Enrollment/Tuition Fee Exemption Program”), which supports students who have difficulty in paying tuition and enrollment fees due to the death of their legal guardians responsible for paying their education expenses, suffering by natural disasters, or other economic reasons.

Those who wish to apply should peruse the Application Guidelines and complete application procedures by the designated deadline.
