1. Issuance of Certificates of Tuition Fee Exemption Status

[A] Issuance of Certificate of Enrollment and Tuition Fee Exemption Status for Siblings Attending Other Universities

In the case that your siblings receive tuition fee exemptions at a different university, they may be asked to provide their sibling's (in this case, your) Certificate of Enrollment and Tuition Fee Exemption Status from the University of Osaka.

At the University of Osaka, we issue these certificates using a special form, so those who require these certificates should inquire at any Student Center. You must provide your student ID.

You can obtain certificates in a form designated by the university at which your sibling is enrolled. Please submit the designated form and necessary document(s) to one of the Student Centers.

At the University of Osaka, we issue Certificates of Enrollment Status and Tuition Fee Exemption Status for siblings using a special form. If you have any problems, please contact the Tuition Fee Exemption Department at the Suita Student Center, the University of Osaka.

[B] Issuance of Certificate of Enrollment and Tuition Fee Exemption Status necessary for the application for the NHK Viewing Fee Exemption Plan

If you live away from your parents due to studies, you can apply to be exempted from paying NHK viewing fees. If you require a certificate of tuition fee exemption status to apply for the NHK Viewing Fee Exemption Plan, please bring the following required documents to one of the Student Centers or send them by postal mail to the Suita Student Center.

2. How to apply to receive these certificates (for both [A] and [B] above)

1) Application at a counter

Submit completed forms 1~3 in 3. Required Documents below to a Student Center.

Hours of operation: Weekdays from 9:00~17:00

(Submissions cannot be accepted on weekends, holidays, or during the summer and winter holidays. Counters may also be closed for certain events, such as the National Center Test for University Admissions.)

2) Application via postal mail

Submit completed forms 1~4 in 3. Required Documents below to the address listed below in an envelope with 授業料免除状況証明書申請 written in red ink on the front of the envelope.

3. Required Documents

  1. Request for Issuance of Certificates (The University of Osaka form)  *Valid only if submitted by a student at the University of Osaka (the applicant themselves)
  2. A copy of your student ID *Required to verify the applicant’s identity due to personal information protection concerns.
  3. Form designated by the university which your sibling is enrolled < If you need to submit a certificate in a specific form>
  4. Return envelope < If you want to get a certificate by postal mail> *A self-addressed envelope with a postage stamp affixed

4. Other Information

It may take 6 business days or so for you to receive your certificate after application, so we advise that you make an application early if you are pressed for time.
