How to obtain Application Guidelines

Before applying, applicants should carefully read (1) Application Guidelines and (2) Application Materials.

(1) Application Guidelines give an outline of entrance examinations (including examination subjects and selection methods) to be held at the university. The guidelines will be published at the end of July 2025. Please make your request via the methods noted on this page.

(2) Application Materials contain information about application procedures, examination schedules, and necessary documents. The date of publication of these materials varies by examination type and are only available online. Peruse the Application Materials of the school of your choice. For more information, click here.

3. Document request at a counter

Application Guidelines 2026~2027 will be available in early August 2025.

Location: Admission Division and the Education Affairs Section (or Student Affairs Section) or each undergraduate school. (Weekdays from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)

4. Document request by postal mail

Applicants are requested to send the Admission Division (Admission Division, Department of Educational and Student Affairs, 1-1 Yamadaoka, Suita, Osaka 565-0871) an envelope with "Request for Application Guidelines" written in red on the front and your postal code, address, and name on the back. Enclose a self-addressed, 33.2 cm x 24.0 cm envelope with the required amount of postage affixed as well as a piece of paper containing your contact information, such as your name, telephone number, and email address.

If your return address is outside Japan, please enclose an international return coupon for air mail weighing 250 g with your request. (500 g if you are also requesting the Osaka University Handbook.) For information regarding tracking services and other additional options, visit the Japan Post website.

The newest University Handbook will be available in mid July, and the Application Guidelines will be available at the end of July.
