March 8th is International Women's Day – The University of Osaka is shifting to a "DE & I Implemented Campus"
Information on Support for Female Students
We have been taking various measures to support female students, such as providing active support before and after enrollment, improving the campus environment, and offering a female student network named “asiam.”
Information on Support for Female Researchers
For female researchers unable to secure sufficient time for research due to life events such as childbirth, childcare, and nursing care, we offer research support and provide various childcare support, including the operation of an on-campus nursery school.
[Special feature] A series of columns published on women's education!
2025 marks 90 years since the first female student enrolled at Osaka University (School of Science) and 40 years since the first female professor was appointed (Graduate School of Engineering Science). We will be posting a series of columns looking back on the history of women's education in the past and reflecting on current efforts and prospects for the future.
More sanitary product dispensers are being installed!
We have been installing sanitary product dispensers in the restroom cubicles and common areas on all campuses (currently about 250 units installed). Creating an environment where students and faculty with menstruation can get sanitary products in restrooms in the same way as toilet paper does more than just reduce their financial burden. Providing environmentally friendly cardboard dispensers and three types of sanitary products gives us the opportunity to “think” (educationally) not only about menstruation but also about the environment and to “choose” accordingly from the three types of sanitary products. We will continue this initiative as a step towards the realization of gender equality and a society where “no one is left behind”.
[Established] "Rules for expenses payment for accompanying children in attending academic conferences or research meetings, etc."
Researchers of the university may apply for the expenses for their accompanying children if they need to have their children accompany them on business trips to attend academic conferences, etc. For details on the requirements and procedures, please refer to the link below.
