Overview

The Archive Repository Preparation Office set up on July 1, 2006, was reorganized into the The University of Osaka Archives on October 1, 2012. The Archives aim to ensure university's smooth operation and contribute to education, research, and social cooperation by conducting surveys and research for the management of official documents at The University of Osaka and collecting and organizing documents on the history of The University of Osaka. To this end, there are two sections in the archives: a section handling official documents and a section for handling documents regarding the history of the university. Documents stored at the repository will be open to the public from the 2013 ~ 2014 academic year.

Seeking your support for materials donation

The Archives is collecting a variety of materials regarding The University of Osaka, including materials related to Osaka University of Foreign Studies as well as institutions under the old educational system: Osaka Imperial University, Osaka Prefectural University of Medicine, Osaka University of Engineering, Osaka Senior High School, Naniwa Senior High School, Osaka College of Pharmacy, Osaka School of Foreign Languages, and Osaka College of Foreign Affairs.

The University of Osaka seeks cooperation from the public regarding the donation or loan of materials regarding the history of The University of Osaka, including campus public relations magazines, syllabi, notes of lectures, paper materials, leaflets about student movements, photos, albums, and other memorabilia.
