Project for encouraging the setup of Temporary Nurseries for symposiums and workshops

Osaka University encourages the establishment of temporary nurseries for symposiums, workshops, etc. [hereafter referred to as "events"] in order to facilitate event participation of faculty and staff. Thus, starting April 2014, Osaka University has begun subsidizing expenses required for setting up such temporary nurseries.

Applications for the use of these services for the first half of the 2016-17 academic year (from April 2016 until September 2016) are now being accepted. (Application deadline: Tuesday, March 1, 2016)

Requirements:

  1. To receive a subsidy, Osaka University must be involved in the event, i.e., the event must be held, jointly held, or sponsored by Osaka University, and/or the event must be held at Osaka University.
  2. The sponsor of the event must be deemed to have the ability to properly manage the event and its temporary nursery; moreover, the event must have an OU faculty or staff member as the person in charge of the nursery management.
  3. The number of event participants must be expected to surpass 50.
  4. There must be clear significance to the establishment of the temporary nursery. Furthermore, in public relations materials for the event and handouts to those users of the temporary nursery, it should be written that the temporary nursery is being provided with financial help from the Osaka University Project for Encouraging the Setup of Temporary Nurseries for Symposiums and Workshops. In cases where the sponsor is an outside organization, it should be stated that the nursery is being provided with financial help from Osaka University.

Procedure Steps

  1. The Osaka University faculty or staff member in charge of the event must submit an application form (Form 1) to the Support Office for Diversity Promotion in Human Resources, Department of General Affairs and Planning, Osaka University.
  2. After screening and selection, the applicant will be informed of whether or not the application has been approved.
  3. If approved, the organizer must secure a space for the temporary nursery room, select a contractor, close a contract with said contractor, and then recruit users. The person in charge must then submit a Report of Preparation Completion (Form 2) to the Support Office for Diversity Promotion in Human Resources no later than one week prior to the event.
  4. Following the event, the person in charge must submit an Implementation Report (Form 3) to the Support Office for Diversity Promotion in Human Resources.
  5. The Support Office for Diversity Promotion in Human Resources will directly pay the contractor. The sponsor is responsible for paying the amount that exceeds the amount provided by the subsidy.

Amount of subsidy: up to 45,000 yen
