Joint Training Exercise Held with the Minoh Police Station

On Friday, September 18, The University of Osaka conducted a joint training exercise with the Minoh Police Station at the Research and Education Hub of the School of Foreign Studies on the Minoh Campus, simulating an emergency situation on campus. University faculty, staff, and students participated in the exercise.

The training consisted of two parts: a demonstration and a lecture. In the first part, UOsaka staff participated in a drill based on scenarios in which an intruder armed with a knife entered the campus and became violent, and a suspicious object left behind by the intruder was discovered. The drill included training on evacuating and guiding people to safety, and taking initial action in response to the intruder, followed by demonstrations by the Minoh Police Station and the Osaka Prefectural Police on apprehending the intruder and handling the suspicious object.

Through the training, participants raised their awareness of crime prevention and deepened their understanding of how to respond to emergencies. Associate Dean NAKAMOTO expressed her appreciation to the Minoh Police Station and the Osaka Prefectural Police for their cooperation, saying, “We will continue to work closely with the police to further strengthen our emergency management system and ensure that everyone can use the Minoh Campus safely and with peace of mind.”
