Professor YAMAMOTO Masahiro Receives the 44th Osaka Science Prize (FY2026)

Professor YAMAMOTO Masahiro at the Research Institute for Microbial Diseases and the Immunology Frontier Research Center (IFReC), has been selected as a recipient of the 44th Osaka Science Prize (FY2026).

Awarded Achievement:
Research on the interactions between pathogens and the cancer immune system and the development of innovative analytical technologies

The Osaka Science Prize was established in 1983 by Osaka Prefecture, Osaka City, and the Osaka Science & Technology Center (OSTEC). It is awarded to researchers under the age of 50 who have made outstanding contributions to scientific and technological research and development in the Kansai region.
Professor YAMAMOTO was also awarded the 69th Hideyo Noguchi Memorial Medical Award in recognition of his research on “Integrated analysis of host immune responses to Toxoplasma gondii and tumors and elucidation of the mechanisms underlying their regulation.”

The Hideyo Noguchi Memorial Award is presented by the Hideyo Noguchi Memorial Foundation in honor of Dr. NOGUCHI Hideyo and in recognition of his achievements. Established to carry on and further develop the research to which he devoted his life to the benefit of people around the world, the award honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions in related fields.
