UOsaka Receives DX Certification
UOsaka has been certified under Japan’s DX Certification Program established by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) (Certification Date: August 1, 2026; Procedure Number: DX-2026-08-0032-01). With this certification, we have become the third university and the second national university corporation in Japan to receive DX Certification.
Based on the OU Master Plan 2027, our medium- to long-term management vision, we have been promoting institution-wide digital transformation across education, research, and management. As part of these efforts, UOsaka has developed and implemented a DX strategy committed to by its executive leadership and has fostered digital talent development. It has also proactively disclosed its performance indicators and progress of related initiatives through our website and other communication channels.
These initiatives were recognized as conforming to the principles of the Digital Governance Code 3.0 and meeting the assessment criteria of the DX Certification Program, resulting in UOsaka being granted DX Certification.
Universities typically have complex organizational structures in which education, research, and management functions are distributed across individual schools and departments. In addition, they are required to meet high standards of public accountability and information security. As a result, the institutional frameworks necessary for promoting DX are inherently complex, and only a limited number of universities have obtained DX Certification to date. Taking these characteristics into account, UOsaka has established a university-wide framework and strategy for advancing DX across the institution and is committed to continuous improvement of its digital transformation initiatives.
Rather than viewing the acquisition of DX Certification as an end in itself, we will continue our efforts to further enhance university management and improve services for students, faculty, and staff through the ongoing promotion of digital transformation.
