The 44th UOsaka Summer Festival Held
On Saturday, June 27, 2026, the 44th UOsaka Summer Festival was held on the Minoh Campus with the theme of “Where Rails Meet, Worlds Expand.”
The UOsaka Summer Festival boasts a long and proud history dating back to the era of the former Osaka University of Foreign Studies, and this year celebrates its 44th anniversary. Held for the fourth time on the current Minoh Campus, the festival continues to thrive with the generous support of many local organizations and community members, including the City of Minoh, the Osaka Semba Fashion Co-Operative Association, Minoh Semba Urban Development Committee, and the Minoh Association for Global Awareness. Combining the international character of our Minoh Campus with the rich local identity of the Minoh Semba district, the festival has established itself as a truly distinctive event unlike any other.
Unfortunately, the impact of Typhoons No. 7 and No. 8 forced the cancellation of several planned activities, including food stalls and the Bon Dance. Some events were also moved indoors at short notice and conducted on a smaller scale. Despite these challenges and the inclement weather, the festival welcomed approximately 5,400 visitors.
Many people took the time to visit the festival despite the challenging weather, and we would like to express our heartfelt thanks for their attendance and support.

At the UOsaka Summer Festival, we strive to create a diverse and inclusive space where people of various nationalities, cultures, occupations, ages, and genders can respect one another.
We look forward to continuing this long-standing festival, where the university and the local community unite to enjoy the richness of cultures from around the world, for many years to come.
