eNewsletter Global Outlook's special issue celebrating World Creativity and Innovation Day is now available
The University of Osaka is a global institution, bringing together diverse talents from Japan and around the world. The latest issue of Global Outlook (Vol. 23), our e-newsletter featuring the inspiring stories of leading researchers and alumni, has now been released.
This special edition celebrates World Creativity and Innovation Day (21 April), highlighting innovative research and journeys in their respective fields.
The special issue highlights the stories of five pioneers whose work is shaping next era through the synergy of humanity and state-of-the-art technology. They include Professor Takanori Takebe of the Premium Research Institute for Human Metaverse Medicine (WPI-PRIMe), who received the 2024 Ig Nobel Prize in Physiology and also was named to the 2026 TIME100 Health List of the World’s Most Influential Leaders in Health by TIME; Associate Professor Kento Masuda of the Graduate School of Science, who confirmed the existence of a new planet in the extrasolar planetary system Kepler-51; Associate Professor (Lecturer) Tiffany Tsz Kwan Tse of the Institute of Social and Economic Research, who uses experimental economics to explore the relationship between human cognitive ability and cooperation, as well as between AI and human decision-making; Associate Professor Yihong Zhang of the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, who is developing a new interactive recommendation system that incorporates social and collective trends; and Ms. Mayo Hitomi, an influential YouTuber graduating from the Hindi program in the School of Foreign Studies, who serves as a bridge between India and Japan through “people-to-people diplomacy”.
Through these diverse perspectives, Global Outlook showcases how The University of Osaka fosters excellence, collaboration, and global impact across disciplines.
