Ceremony for the 2025-26 Science Award for Female Graduate Students Held

The University of Osaka established the Science Award for Female Graduate Students in 2019-2020 in order to recognize superior performances by female graduate students in scientific fields in the hopes of motivating these outstanding female students who wish to advance to doctoral programs to become researchers.
This award is implemented as part of efforts to broaden the base of participation in the natural sciences, where the proportion of women researchers at UOsaka remains particularly low.

On April 21, 2026, the award ceremony for the 2025-2026 Science Award for Female Graduate Students was held at the university’s Convention Center, where 19 female graduate student awardees were presented with award certificates and supplementary prizes, receiving words of congratulations from President KUMANOGOH Atsushi.
Next, Ms. KANEMITSU Risako of the Graduate School of Frontier Biosciences gave a speech on behalf of the award winners. She expressed her joy and gratitude for the recognition of her research achievements and stated her determination to further pursue her research activities.
