Conferment Ceremony Held for Medal of Honor with Dark Blue Ribbon

Ms. OGAWA Akiko, Ms. KAWASAKI Taeko, Mr. SOGO Motoo, and the Ready-Mixed Concrete Cooperative of Greater Osaka received Medals of Honor with a Dark Blue Ribbon* from the Japanese government for their generous financial contributions to the University of Osaka.

The conferment ceremony was held at the University of Osaka on April 9, 2026, with the attendance of President KUMANOGOH Atsushi, Senior Executive Vice President FUJIO Yasushi, Executive Vice President ONOYE Takao, Professor NONOMURA Norio (Director of the University of Osaka Hospital), and Specially Appointed Professor (Full Time) HIRANO Kenichi at Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences. President Kumanogoh conferred the medals on the donors, expressing his gratitude for their contributions.

Their donations were used for the University of Osaka Research Support Program Fund, Crowdfunding for the University of Osaka Foundation for the Future “Abdominal aortic aneurysms—an unpredictable, life‑threatening condition. Advancing clinical research to illuminate new treatment pathways”, “Kyowa Technologies Young Talent Support Program”, and “The University of Osaka Hospital Redevelopment Fund”.

At the social gathering following the ceremony, President Kumanogoh once again expressed his gratitude to the donors for their donations, while the donors spoke about their reasons and expectations for the development of education, research, and medical science of UOsaka in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.

The Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon is awarded to individuals who have made exceptionally generous financial contributions for the good of the public.
