A total of 19 faculty and staff members from the University of Osaka attended the 2026 Commendation Ceremony for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT)
On April 15, 2026, the FY2026 Commendation Ceremony for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology was held at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), and 19 of the 20 award recipients from UOsaka attended the ceremony.
This commendation recognizes individuals who have made significant achievements in research and development or in promoting public understanding of science and technology. The following UOsaka faculty and staff members were honored with awards.
○ Science and Technology Award (Development Category, Research Category, Technology Category, Public Understanding Promotion Category)
○ The Young Scientists' Award
○Outstanding Support for Research Award (Research and Development Management Category, Advanced Technology Support Category)
At the ceremony, congratulatory remarks from Minister MATSUMOTO Yohei (delivered on his behalf by Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology FUKUDA Kaoru) were presented, and certificates of commendation were awarded to representatives of each award category.
This year’s recipients included not only faculty but also administrative staff from the University of Osaka. At the ceremony for the Outstanding Support for Research Award (Research and Development Management Category), Professor MURAKI Michiko received the award as the representative recipient.
