Distinguished Honorary Professor SAKAGUCHI Shimon participated in the celebratory events held by the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors in honor of the Nobel Prize

On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, Distinguished Honorary Professor SAKAGUCHI Shimon, who received the 2025 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, participated—together with Distinguished Professor KITAGAWA Susumu at Kyoto University, a recipient of the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry—in the celebratory events held by the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors in honor of the Nobel Prize.
Speaker MORI Eisuke of the House of Representatives and Speaker SEKIGUCHI Masakazu of the House of Councillors extended their congratulations to both professors. They also engaged in a valuable exchange of views with the Speakers and Vice-Speakers of both Houses, the Chair of the House Management Committee, Committee Directors, and other attending members of the Diet, with an eye toward the bright future of science in Japan.
