State Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, KOBAYASHI Shigeki visited UOsaka
On January 16 (Fri.), 2026, KOBAYASHI Shigeki, State Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and other officials visited Immunology Frontier Research Center (IFReC).
After greetings from President KUMANOGOH Atsushi, State Minister and his delegation received a brief explanation of the IFReC from Director TAKEDA Kiyoshi, and there was an active exchange of opinions on the current state of drug discovery in Japan and prospects for the field of immunology at Japanese universities. Afterwards, they visited the laboratory of Distinguished Honorary Professor SAKAGUCHI Shimon, the Nobel Prize laureate in Physiology or Medicine, as well as the Bioinformatics Center.
