[Nobel Diary Day 2] Professor Shimon Sakaguchi Arrives in Stockholm

Distinguished Honorary Professor Shimon Sakaguchi arrived at Stockholm Arlanda Airport in Sweden. He will participate in the Nobel Prize award ceremony on December 10 and related official events.

At the transit airport to Stockholm, Professor Sakaguchi and his wife shared sandwiches and enjoyed a brief rest with accompanying staff for the Nobel Week.

Nobel Attaché Anna Uggla and others who will be accompanying the professor during the Nobel Week welcomed them to the airport. They then moved in a private car provided by the Nobel Foundation to the Grand Hotel, where they will be staying during the week.

Stockholm is reportedly warmer than usual this year. Although it was raining lightly in the morning, it had stopped by the time Professor Sakaguchi arrived.

Official events will finally kick off tomorrow, starting with a press conference.
