Award ceremony held for the UOsaka President's Special Prize

The University of Osaka has awarded the UOsaka President’s Special Prize to Professor Emeritus Taro Eguch.

The UOsaka President's Special Prize is awarded to individuals who have made outstanding achievements that impact society as well as promote the university’s educational research and social contributions.
Professor Eguchi was presented with the President's Special Prize for his significant contributions to the designation of the Machikane Crocodylidae (Toyotamaphimeia Machikanensis) fossil, housed and displayed in the Museum of Osaka University, as a Natural Treasure (the first such designation in Osaka Prefecture in 69 years).

The award ceremony was held on Friday, November 14, in the president's office (Suita Campus). The university's official mascot character, “Dr. Wani,” whose motif is based on the Machikane crocodile fossil, was also in attendance.
