The 64th Seven Universities Meet (2025) Comes to a Close
On September 19, the closing ceremony for the 64th Seven Universities Meet was held at Hokkaido University, bringing this year's meet to a close.
In attendance at the ceremony were the executive members, including the Chairman of the University of Osaka Sports Union (OUSU), looking back on this year’s Seven Universities Meet.
Comments from the OUSU Chairman:
Well done on the thrilling tournament in Hokkaido! This year, the University of Osaka finished in 5th place overall. While we certainly feel disappointed, having taken a step forward from the previous year is proof of everyone's hard work.
Let's not just take one step, but two or even three, make a huge leap forward, and aim for seizing the championship at next year's 65th meet and then the 66th meet, for which UOsaka will be the host university!
KANAI Yuuki
71st Chair, the University of Osaka Sports Union
In the gymnastics competition held from September 5 to 7 at the General Gymnasium in the Nopporo General Sports Park, the men’s Gymnastics Club won the championship for the second year in a row.
Comments from the captain of the Gymnastics Club:
At this year's Seven Universities Meet, we achieved outstanding results, with the men's team winning the championship and the women's team coming second! As captain, I was truly proud to see our members united as one team, sharing joy, and relentlessly pursuing the best performances until the very end. Next year, we will do our best to win both men's and women's championships and a third consecutive victory! We appreciate your continued warm support for the Gymnastics Club!

In two years, the University of Osaka will host the 66th Seven Universities Meet in Osaka. The executive committee has been formed in preparation for the meet.
Comment from the Chair of the 66th Seven Universities Meet Executive Committee:
Hello. I am Ryosuke Okubo, Chair of the 66th Seven Universities Meet Executive Committee.
The Seven Universities Meet, which started at Hokkaido University in 1962, has passed on the torch of tradition for over half a century. Finally, the year after next, the University of Osaka will be the host for the first time in 14 years.
The previous Seven Universities Meet in Osaka was unfortunately canceled due to the outbreak of COVID-19, depriving many students of the chance to demonstrate their training results. Instead, we are in preparation with the strong determination to “reclaim the lost stage of glory and hold a tournament that will be unforgettable for everyone.”
The entire executive committee will spare no effort to ensure the 66th Seven Universities Meet becomes an irreplaceable event for both the participating athletes and all supporters. We sincerely appreciate your warm support.
Also, we would like to ask for your understanding and cheers for the annual Seven Universities Meet, with the next one to be held at Kyushu University.
