Title of the University of Osaka Global Alumni Fellow awarded to President PIVSA–ART Sommai

On August 22, 2025, the title-awarding ceremony for the University of Osaka Global Alumni Fellow took place at the university, where President PIVSA–ART Sommai of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (Thailand) received the title from Executive Vice President HAYASHI Mikako, in charge of Global Engagement.

The title of Global Alumni Fellow is conferred on UOsaka alumni who are active overseas in building an international network.

President PIVSA–ART Sommai graduated from our Graduate School of Engineering in 1998 and is currently the president at Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi. He is actively promoting joint research and student exchanges between Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi and our university by sending international collaborative researchers and international students.

At the ceremony, Executive Vice President Hayashi explained the significance of the title and asked for President PIVSA–ART Sommai's continued support in serving as a bridge for education and research between UOsaka and Thailand, as well as enhancing the network between UOsaka alumni, education and research institutions, and companies that are active in Thailand.
