🔴Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai ×The University of Osaka!🔵UOsaka Participated in Public Live Recording of "Q-1 -U-18s Transforming the Future ★ Research Presentation SHOW"

On July 22, the public live recording of the TV program titled Q-1 - U-18s Transforming the Future ★ Research Presentation SHOW- by Asahi Television Broadcasting took place at EXPO Hall “Shining Hat” at the Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai. UOsaka President Atsushi Kumanogoh and Professor Takeharu Nagai of the Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research appeared on the show.

"Q-1," in which the University of Osaka participated as a sponsor, is a kind of “Summit Battle of Intelligence” where U-18 students work on “exploration (QUEST)” to transform the future and the world and then share their findings in a 9-minute presentation after formulating their own “questions (QUESTION)” based on the challenges they identified during their exploration.

The 2025 competition saw a record 293 entries from 39 prefectures and the United States. Three finalist teams who survived highly competitive screening to advance to the final round (Aomori Prefectural Nakui Agricultural High School, Tokyo Metropolitan Tachikawa High School, and Kagoshima Prefectural Kokubun High School) battled it out in a heated presentation at the Expo 2025.

The final round consisted of 9-minute presentations followed by Q&A sessions. During the Q&A sessions, the presenters engaged in advanced discussions with "Q&A specialists (experts in the specific fields)” and the judges.

Aomori Prefectural Nakui Agricultural High School gave a presentation titled "The Magic of Bubble: Development of a Bubble-Spray Herbicide System for Environmental Symbiosis," and Professor Nagai of the Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research took the stage as the Q&A specialist. Professor Nagai delved deeply into the inspiration for their research and cost estimates, engaging in a lively discussion with the finalists.

At the end, the top innovator was selected from the finalists, while the other presenters were each awarded corporate awards or special prizes.

Our President Kumanogoh presented the UOsaka Explorer Award to the winning teams, granting them a tour of the “UOsaka Intellectual Adventure! Special Admission to Innovative Cutting-Edge Laboratories.”

The venue was completely full, with some audience members standing, revealing the immense hope that the research would change the future.
