🔴Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai × The University of Osaka!🔵 Faculty and students of School of Foreign Studies, Portuguese Language Major, Invited to National Day of Angola!
On July 29, the National Day of Angola was held at the Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai. The ceremony began with greetings from Maria do Rosário Bragança (Minister of State for Social Affairs) and Hirobumi Niki (State Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare), followed by performances of Angolan contemporary pop music and traditional dance. The venue was full of invited guests and the public, with Angolan flags distributed to each seat, giving rise to a sense of unity between the performers and the audience through flag-themed interactions.

At the end of the event, Angolan singer Daniel Nascimento called out to the audience, “Let's dance!” and the guests began to dance one after another. Mr. Niki (State Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare) and Teodolinda Coelho (Ambassador of Angola to Japan) also joined in and danced together hand in hand.
Shintaro Torigoe, a lecturer of the Department of Foreign Studies in the Graduate School of Humanities and the School of Foreign Studies, and 8 undergraduates were invited to the ceremony. This invitation was made possible thanks to the generosity of Ambassador Teodolinda Coelho, who participated in the "50th Anniversary of Independence of Portuguese-Speaking African Countries" event, hosted by the Portuguese language majors of the School of Foreign Studies, held on the Minoh Campus on May 31, 2025.
