Osaka University Global Campus (OUGC, Minoh Campus) New Brochure Available – towards the increased value of both the university and the local community through co-creation efforts-
OUGC Brochure (Click on the image for PDF)
Osaka University Global Campus (OUGC, Minoh Campus) strives to realize co-creation with the local community by cultivating highly skilled global human resources, promoting Japanese language and culture worldwide, and connecting local citizens with the world through the achievements of research in foreign languages and foreign area studies, thereby creating a campus that embodies the university’s motto, "Live Locally, Grow Globally."
To this end, the Minah Campus hosts a variety of university-community collaboration events, with the two main annual highlights being “Seeing the World from Various Perspectives” in July and “School of Foreign Studies and Foreign Languages Major Symposium” in October.
(This year's “Seeing the World from Various Perspectives” event is scheduled for July 19, 2025. For more details, click here)
In addition, we hold many events throughout the year that are open to the general public, such as the "The University of Osaka Summer Festival," which transmits to the Minoh Semba Area the traditional local festival held since the days of Osaka University of Foreign Studies, and the "Monthly Multicultural Salon," a cultural lecture series for citizens in which all 25 language majors of the School of Foreign Studies take turns in a relay format.
Furthermore, the “International Studies Library (Minoo City Semba Library),” which houses collections from around the world, and the “Minoo City Semba Lifelong Learning Center,” which features meeting rooms, music studios, and an outdoor sports area, are operated by the University of Osaka as the designated manager, unprecedented for a national university.
Students and faculty at the Minoh Campus collaborate to organize and hold a wide range of events, from community lectures open to everyone to highly specialized lectures leveraging their expertise, as well as numerous events for children.
Please come and visit us on the Minoh Campus!
In this brochure, you can find many other initiatives. It also introduces the unique environment on the Minoh campus, such as the mixed-gender dormitories and communication spaces where international and Japanese students can interact daily.
OUGC Official Logo
The logo resembles a bird flapping its wings or an open book.
It expresses the idea that an environment where you can come into contact with the linguistic and cultural diversity (learning through books) leads to spreading one’s wings and soaring into the world (like a bird). The dots represent the wings of a bird and the letters written in a book.
