Applicants Wanted for the 26th Presidential Awards for Extracurricular Activities

The Presidential Awards for Extracurricular Activities, a project by The University of Osaka Foundation for the Future, were established for the purpose of recognizing outstanding extracurricular activities and to reinvigorate and improve student activities. This year marks the 26th installment of these awards.

Applications for the 26th Presidential Awards for Extracurricular Activities are now being accepted.

Call for Applicants for the 26th Presidential Awards for Extracurricular Activities

1.Purpose
To enhance and further vitalize extracurricular activities of UOsaka students

2. Commendations
Achievements will be recognized by a certificate of merit as well as an extra prize.

2024 Award Ceremony

3. Selection criteria
To be eligible for a prize, an activity in the period from April 2024 through March 2025 must meet one of the following criteria:

An outstanding performance, such as a championship victory in a competition outside the university.
An outstanding performance, such as a championship victory in a competition involving multiple universities.
An outstanding contribution recognized by society that brings honor to the university.
A significant contribution to volunteer activities.
Recognition for having done something equivalent to or exceeding criteria (1) ~ (4) noted above.

4. Eligibility
Groups and individuals belonging to The University of Osaka and UOsaka alumni, including those who graduated during the 2024-25 academic year

5. Application procedure
Please prepare the three documents listed in the table below in the specified electronic data format and send them to the email address for applications by the application deadline.
*Please note that, from this year onwards, we will accept digital submissions only; printed-out hard copy will NOT be accepted.

2. Documents of your achievements Digital submission: PDF file	Please submit any pamphlets, booklets, and media coverage such as newspaper articles which objectively verify your achievements. Please number each document corresponding to the numbers on the list of “3. List of documents which objectively verify your achievements.” Highlight relevant sections of submitted media coverage in color. Please make sure to include only the sections necessary for the screening in the submitted documents. Website URLs do not constitute documents that verify achievements. Please submit such relevant webpages in PDF format if you wish to include them as documents to prove your achievements.
3. Documents which objectively verify achievements Digital submission: PDF file	Please fill in the necessary information according to the form. Please indicate the number of the " List of documents which objectively verify your achievements” in the file name of the achievement documents. *For any tournament listed without a relevant descriptor (world tournament, national tournament, etc.), please provide an explanation in the notes section on your list.

6. Application deadline
Thursday, July 31, 2025
*Any submissions received after this deadline will not be accepted. Please allow ample time for your application.
*Whether your application is submitted by the deadline will be determined based on the time your email is received at the above email address for applications.

7. Screening & Results Announcement
The Student Life Committee will deliberate in determining the winners of the awards.
Applicants will be informed in mid-October.
Please keep in mind that winners must attend an award ceremony scheduled for November 2025.

8. Additional information
This award is supported by The University of Osaka Foundation for the Future.
Please note that recipients of this award may be asked for activity reports and photos for various university publications.
