Hungarian President Sulyok Tamás visited the Minoh Campus
On May 23, 2025, President Sulyok Tamás of Hungary visited the Minoh Campus. This visit was made possible thanks to the President's request to have an opportunity to interact with students from our School of Foreign Studies, which is the only institution in Japan offering a Hungarian language major, during his visit to Japan for the National Day of Hungary at the Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai.
The social gathering began with a chorus of the Hungarian folk song "Spring Wind" by all 1st year students, followed by opening remarks from Professor Mari Okamoto and a speech from the President.

After the speech by the President, the students raised their hands one after another, asking questions with confidence in the Hungarian language they have acquired, and the President answered each one attentively, sometimes with humor, making it a very lively Q&A session.

The 2nd year students then gave a presentation on the university, majors available, and student life, followed by speeches by two upper-class students. The event concluded with closing remarks from Executive Vice President Keiko Takemura.

The president was deeply impressed by the fact that so many university students in Japan, 9,000 kilometers away from Hungary, are enthusiastically studying the Hungarian language and culture, giving a warm cheer to the students, saying, “I hope you will serve as cultural and academic ambassadors connecting the two countries in the future.”
