Conferment Ceremony Held for Medal of Honor with Dark Blue Ribbon

Mr. KOMAMURA Kazuo, Mr. YAMAZAKI Katsuhiko, Mr. MOTOO Sogo, and Mr. FUJIMOTO Yukitaka received Medals of Honor with a Dark Blue Ribbon* from the Japanese government for their generous financial contributions to the University of Osaka.

The conferment ceremony was held at the University of Osaka on May 20, 2025, with the attendance of President KUMANOGOH Atsushi, Prof. NONOMURA Norio (Director of the University of Osaka Hospital), Prof. HARA (Dean of the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology), and KISHIMA Haruhiko (Associate Dean of the Graduate School of Medicine). President Kumanogoh conferred the medals on the donors, expressing his gratitude for their contributions.

Their donations were used for the renovation work of the Integrated Medical Care Building at the University of Osaka Hospital and support for education and research, etc.

At the social gathering following the ceremony, President Kumanogoh once again expressed his gratitude to the donors for their donations, while the donors spoke about their reasons and expectations for their donations.

The Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon is awarded to individuals who have made exceptionally generous financial contributions for the good of the public. It is conferred when the occasion arises, after the Decoration Bureau of the Cabinet Office has screened the candidates recommended by relevant ministries.
