Presentation session held for the 2024-2025 Independent Research Project for Undergraduate Students

On May 2, 2025, the University of Osaka held a presentation session for the 2024-2025 Independent Research Project for Undergraduate Students in the Assembly Hall at Osaka University Hall.

This project was started in the AY 2015-2016 in order to raise students' awareness of "autonomous learning" and cultivate their ability to see the essence of things so that they can be active on the world stage.

In this project, the university supports undergraduate students’ creative and ambitious independent research (research in which students do not acquire credits required for graduation) by offering independent research funding and faculty advisors to guide students in their research activity.

In the 2024-2025 academic year, 53 research projects were selected in 13 categories across all 11 undergraduate schools on a wide variety of topics that extend beyond their own departments and schools. Students in these projects performed independent research activities over the course of nearly 6 months.

11 groups (1 group in absence) selected from this project gave introductions to their research at this session.
