The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) has released a study material for the 2025 Science and Technology Week, titled “One for Every Household: Quantum and Quantum Technology - 100 Years History of Quantum Computing!”
This study material, the 21st in the series, was planned and supervised by the Center for Quantum Information and Quantum Biology at the University of Osaka (QIQB) and others.
[Chief Supervisor]
Professor, Graduate School of Engineering Science, the University of Osaka; Deputy Director, Center for Quantum Information and Quantum Biology at the University of Osaka
This issue of "One for Every Household" focuses on the theme of "quantum," which marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the basic theory of quantum mechanics, and introduces the properties of quantum, the history of its development, and “quantum technologies” such as quantum computing, quantum communications, and quantum sensors.
On March 24th, to mark the poster’s release, Minister Abe had a discussion with the supervisors of the project, Professor Shun Yamamoto, Specially Appointed Professor Masahiro Kitagawa, and Associate Professor Makoto Negoro of the University’s Center for Quantum Information and Quantum Biology. They exchanged views on reinforcing collaboration with companies in the field of quantum technology, international trends, and human resource development at universities and centers.
