A Japanese painting by Uemura Shoen donnated to Osaka University!

Osaka University has received a donation of artwork titled “Eika no Zu” by Uemura Shoen, a great master of Japanese painting.

This work of art has been donated by Ms. Kyoko Kumagai, the president of Nikko Co., Ltd., and is being prepared for display in the OU Main Library at Toyonaka Campus, where students gather, from this autumn onwards. The Museum of Osaka University will be responsible for the maintenance of the work.

It will hopefully provide a valuable opportunity for the students to experience authentic art, with their creativity stimulated and sensibility further cultivated.
