Announcement: The official English name of the university will be changed to The University of Osaka

As the university endeavors to be a global institution and enhance its international presence, the official English name will be changed to "The University of Osaka" as of April 2025 (former English name: Osaka University).

Under this new English name aligned with global standards, the university is committed to preserving and promoting the civic spirit inherited from Kaitokudo and Tekijuku, two schools long rooted in the Osaka area, guided by the motto, "Live Locally, Grow Globally,” as well as actively fulfill our role as a university leading social transformation on the international stage.

We kindly ask for your continued support and encouragement as we move forward.

*Note that the domain name for the official website of The University of Osaka will remain “osaka-u.ac.jp”.
