Nakanoshima Center participates in Open House Osaka 2024 for the first time
On Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27, 2024, the Nakanoshima Center participated in Open House Osaka 2024 for the first time.
At the Nakanoshima Center, which stands on the former site of the Faculty of Medicine and Osaka University Hospital (both of which moved from Nakanoshima in Osaka City to Suita City in August 1993), there were panel displays and slideshows featuring photos from when Osaka University was located on Nakanoshima, as well as model exhibits. The 8th and 10th floors were also open to the public especially for this event.
The event at the center, which welcomed about 160 visitors on the 26th and about 230 on the 27th, constituting about 400 visitors in total, ended on a high note. The event made for a great opportunity for many individuals, regardless of age or gender, to come see and experience the history of Osaka University and the Nakanoshima Center.
Participants enjoyed this event in their own way: thinking of the past by looking at photos on display panels and slideshows while checking a brochure and exhibition catalogues, enjoying the view from the 10th floor, or looking at elaborately designed building, furniture, and art pieces curiously.
Those who missed this opportunity are welcome to view the permanent exhibits on the 1st and 2nd floors during office hours excluding special days. We hope you will come and visit.
